Prezcon is Around The Corner!

Prezcon is our regional board game convention and tournament. You can go as a casual gamer or participate in a whole slew of tournaments. It is from February 24th Through March 1st in Charlottesville VA at the Doubletree. A few rooms are still available at the Doubletree but a more cost effective option is to stay at one of the cheaper hotels within 5 minutes of the convention.

Game designer, Uwe Eickert, will finally be attending the con as a dealer. He is the designer of The Conflict of Hero’s Series and many more game. He plans to demo some of his new titles and more than likely some of his classic games as well. We are running his tile Rebellion 1775 being run as part of  RevCon. I am not sure but he might even sign your games while he is at the con.

Great Time on Saturday

Had six players show up for our Saturday game session, 2 players played Five Crowns and four of us played GMT’s Time of Crisis: The Roman Empire in Turmoil, 235-284 AD. Three of the players had never played so after explaining the rules we played two rounds before we re-started. Played to the end in about 5 hours so a LONG game but action packed; expansion, military invasions, barbarian invasions, mobs and despair. It had it all, even a pretender empire. In the end, the blue player squeaked out a 2 point victory over red. A great time was had by all.

What to play on 1/18!

It’s almost time for Saturday board games, no short game, no micro games, lets get into the meat of gaming and play something that takes HOURS! Whoa, whoa, whoa, not those 12-18 hour games, right???

Yup, not those monster games, we can set up something special for THOSE people. This is an opportunity to play longer games that are in the 2-4 hour range, things like Fire Fly, Crusader Kings the Board Game, Axis and Allies, SpaceCorp, Star Wars Rebellion and the list goes on. It really depends on how many people show up. We target a maximum of 5 people so sign up early and vote for what you want to play! The survey will always have a place to write in your favorite, pick up to three and we will see what the winners are that Saturday.

Bring snacks, we can order lunch/dinner, everything is flexible, hope to see you then!
