I have gone out and added updated events for game nights and brewery events on the calendar thru the beginning of December. The Saturday dates do not conflict with home games so we should be good there. We also have a huge thank you for Gregor for picking up a Friday game night toward the end of the month, everyone has had an awesome time at his home!

Eastern Divide Brewery reached out to me today (Wednesday) to let me know they needed to cancel our board game day due to them being closed for a larger event. It is unfortunate but it happens. We have a few options, we can just change venues, we can come to the house in Christiansburg or go to Irontree. We could move to another day. If you are on Facebook, go to the NRV Tabletop Group and vote in the poll or send a note to admin@nrvtabletop.com letting us know what you want to do.

If you want to have it at our house, what type of beer/wine/refreshments would be good to have? Also, the pool is open so feel free to bring your bathing suit if you want!

on July 1st, we have Board Games at Eastern Divide Brewery. We will be playing games at Eastern Divide Brewery starting at noon and going until people need to leave. This continues our social gaming calendar and is in addition to our bi-weekly game nights in Christiansburg. Check out the calendar for July and August dates.

At the end of July is WBC at Seven Springs, for those that may be going, good luck in your tournaments! For those that have never heard of WBC, it stands for World Boardgaming Championships. it is a 7 day convention of tournament and open gaming and players from across the US and Canada as well s the world come together. It is sponsored by the BPA (Boardgame Players Association) and hosts around 1500 players annually.

If you have found yourself going down a rabbit hole of Kick Starter and Game Found launches, you aren’t alone. This has been a pretty stellar year for new games (and old). You can find S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on Game Found as well as Firefly 10th Anniversary relaunch. Kickstarter has a bunch of new ones including Burning Banners (fantasy, multiplayer war game), Nestlings, and Impyrium Board Game (coming soon). Check out what is up and coming.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Eastern Divide Brewery this Saturday, 5/6. We setup when they open at noon but come when you can, bring games you would like to get to the table, small or large, it’s up to you! The brewery has great beer as you would expect but don’t overlook their menu! The fries are fantastic but try out their smash burger, it is also really tasty. You can find them on the web at Easter Divide and the event on our calendar.

The NRV Gamers Guild have been invited to come out and participate. Lets welcome them to our little slice of heaven!

A few of the games we plan to bring are Clank! Catacombs, Formula D Motor Racing as well as some good micro games like Love Letter, maybe Bang! and some others. We hope you can make time and come on down with your favorite games and sit and play with us this weekend at Eastern Divide!

We have puppies due and we expect them to be born as early as Wednesday and as late as Saturday. With all that goes along with that, I can’t see us having a game night that won’t be interrupted with may emergencies. I would love to host it but with all that is involved, I know what will happen.

If anyone is interested in hosting Friday night, post on the Facebook group, send me a message or reply in the forums and I will get the word out!

Otherwise, we will see everyone at the Brewery next Saturday! We are hoping for a large group so please come on out and play some games!
